My family has always said that I didn’t just inherit my father’s name, I also got his bad luck. The Kennedy Luck, we call it. It’s the kind of bad luck that certainly doesn’t ruin your whole life, but is often unbelievably inconvenient. The kind that makes people shake their head and say, “Only you, Kayla, only you…” It’s led to a lot of injuries and mishaps for sure, but also stories.
I went to school for science. To be more specific, I double majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology at Westfield State University, with a minor in Theatre. Then I went on to get my master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Simmons College and become a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). And for those of you have no idea what that is, let me clarify. I am not a teacher (although I certainly teach skills), and I am not an FBI agent from Criminal Minds (although that would be outrageously cool). I studied the principles of behavior and now I use that knowledge to work with families affected by autism and social disabilities.
I have always been a writer, if not always a dedicated one, with a focus on poetry and fiction. My bio of accomplishments would probably note:
Author of If This is How You Love
Member of the Mill City Speaks Slam Team (2023 - Present)
2024 WOWPS (Womxn of the World Poetry Slam) Competitor in Baltimore, MD. I was sponsored by Slam Free or Die.

My work has been featured across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
I’m a 90’s baby, born in Cambridge MA and raised in a little colonial town known as Billerica. Now, I live somewhere north of there with my husband, my baby boy, and our 200 pound English Mastiff.
